Oven won’t reach temperature
A tired bake element or a glow-bar igniter that no longer draws enough current leaves the cavity lukewarm. We measure the circuit before replacing anything.
Runs hot or cold by 25°+
When the set point and the real temperature drift apart, the RTD oven sensor is usually reading out of range — or the oven simply needs a calibration offset.
Uneven or slow baking
A convection fan that has seized, slowed, or lost its motor leaves hot and cold spots and stretches every bake time.
Broiler won’t fire
No top-down heat usually means a failed broil element or a relay on the control board that no longer closes for the broil circuit.
Door won’t seal or latch
A sagging hinge, a stretched door spring or a failed latch lets heat escape and can lock out the controls. We rebuild the door hardware to spec.
Error code or dead panel
A blank display or a fault code points to the relay board, the control board, or wiring — we decode it against your model before quoting a board.
Two installs, the same heating circuit
Viking builds ovens in two forms: a built-in wall oven, single or double, set into the cabinetry, and the range oven tucked beneath a professional cooktop. The install differs, but the heating circuit is the same — and so is the way it fails. Heat comes from a bake element and a broil element (or a gas burner lit by a glow-bar igniter), the cavity temperature is read by an RTD oven sensor, and a relay on the control board switches each circuit on demand. A convection model adds a fan and a third element to move the heat around.
That shared design is why a no-heat call is usually a fast, parts-level repair rather than a reason to replace the appliance. We isolate the fault to a single component — element, igniter, sensor, fan motor or relay/control board — confirm it with a meter, and bring the genuine OEM part matched to your model and serial. Temperature complaints almost always end with a calibration check against an independent probe, so the oven you set to 350 actually bakes at 350.
